Meanwhile, the Kingsmen investigate the industrialist Valentine, an insane genius of technology who is plotting a deadly plan with his assistant Gazelle to save Earth from global warming eliminating most of the population with a chip and saving only those that he has chosen.
A spy organization recruits an unrefined, but promising street kid into the agency's ultra-competitive training program, just as a global threat emerges from a twisted tech genius.
Kingsman: The Secret Service was just simply so much goddamn fun. I had heard that it was a fun film but i had no idea just how great it was going to be. This movie was filled with crazy intense action sequences and some more subtle jokes that show up every now and then. The plot of this movie you think is something you have seen before but it continuously surprises you throughout and just when you think you know is going to happen it throws you a curveball. These surprises helped to make the film so much more entertaining. Lets start with the action sequences because they are by far the best scenes of the movie. They are just awesome edge of your seat action sequences that are exaggerated in terms of the violence and gore to make them really unique. The way they are shot is incredible how they don&#39;t use conventional shots instead there are some crazy rotating continuous shots that make the scene that much more awesome. <br/><br/>This film did have its fair share of comedy, and i thought it did pretty well to make me laugh. Only 2-3 times it didn&#39;t work for me but otherwise the smart and subtle comedy was very effective. And the jokes and bizarre action would not have been as awesome without the incredible cast they got. From the big names such as Samuel L Jackson and Colin Farrell to Taron Egerton and Sofia Boutella they all did amazing jobs in their roles and were so fun to watch. They do a good job at creating an enemy who you know is bad but you cannot resist to love him because of the character itself and the actor playing them.<br/><br/>The main criticism i give this film was that there were a couple of moments that it slowed down a little too much before going into some intense action scenes. The jokes they crack during these scenes and just overall interest in the plot help a little to not get too restless. But they are a minor offence as all of the good this movie does overshadows the bad. In the end, this movie was a great blend of crazy intense action, engaging characters and plot, and a little bit of comedy to add to the fun - 8.9
I remember seeing a clip from Kingsman a year before the film came out. It was that great fight scene in the pub and it generated loads of excitement and anticipation in the crowd that viewed it at Wondercon. Who knew that scene was the highlight of the whole movie and it all went down the drain from there like a sludgy turd?<br/><br/>It&#39;s simply amazing to me that a film that should have been such can&#39;t miss material managed to do almost everything wrong. Dumb, predictable, crude, sexist, unfunny to anyone with an IQ higher than room temperature and violent to the point of grotesque, Kingsman just devolves from scene to scene into a miasma of stupid.<br/><br/>I generally have no problem with movie violence, but Kingsman simply disgusted me. When a film tries to sell itself as a quirky Bond send-up, suddenly dumping a metric ton of Evil Dead-esque hack and slashing (most of which is being committed by the film&#39;s ostensible hero) pretty much destroys the tone and makes clear that the filmmakers haven&#39;t a clue what they&#39;re doing. The pathetic stabs at unPC satire are, likewise, amateurish and eyeroll-inducing.<br/><br/>Probably the single biggest dim-bulb move, however, is systematically killing off anyone in the cast remotely interesting, including the nominal star, Colin Firth, who is denied the dignity of even making it as far as the final half hour (though it&#39;s entirely possible he insisted on it after reading through the whole script).<br/><br/>Since everything these days, no matter how vile and utterly devoid of merit it may be, is granted a sequel, we will apparently be getting a Kingsman 2. And how thrilling to know it will star the bland, charisma-free twenty-something leftovers from K1, whose names and faces I&#39;m struggling to recall even though I watched the film less than an hour ago. Yes, nothing says a good time at the cinema like watching the human equivalent of vanilla pudding.<br/><br/>In sum, if you really want to see a Bond-like film, go see a Bond film! Or watch the British Avengers series, or The Incredibles, or track down a copy of In Like Flint. Anything up to and including watching test patterns and infomercials for incontinence care would be time better spent than watching this thing.
Despite the presence of grandfatherly Michael Caine, Kingsman’s tone is about as far from the Christopher Nolan-style superhero film as you can get. Verisimilitude is frequently traded in for a rich laugh. The action scenes delight with shock humour.
During his training to become a Kingsman. We never see him train in combat, but we see at least a few weeks, to a few months pass during his training. When Harry is first in his coma, he is clean-shaven. When he awakes from his coma, he has a full, thick beard and long hair. So it&#39;s safe to say Eggsy and Roxy learned how to fight and shoot like a Kingsman agent in that time. Also, it is mentioned that Eggsy was in the Marines and was an accomplished gymnast, as well as being somewhat skilled in parkour. So he likely adapted to his training quickly. Yes, there&#39;s an extra scene that begins shortly after the credits start. The stinger lasts about two minutes. After Eggsy discovers that Arthur was in league with Valentine, he goes straight to Merlin with the news. Merlin sees the countdown to V-Day on Arthur&#39;s phone and realizes that Arthur could have corrupted more Kingsman. There simply wasn&#39;t enough time to vet them all in order to find out who could be trusted. So it was up to Eggsy, Roxy and Merlin to stop Valentine. It&#39;s likely that Merlin would have told Eggsy he still had a parachute or if Eggsy kept his wits about him, he would have tried pulling his ripcord anyways.<br/><br/>The reason Merlin did not, was that Roxy and Eggsy were tumbling so close together near the terminal line. Merlin was counting on Roxy grabbing him. Also if Eggsy or Roxy deployed their chutes in close proximity to each other, their chutes would likely be tangled and they would plummet to their deaths.
